Everrime – The Sea Is Calling Our Names – 2026

German symphonic metallers EVERRIME return with “The Sea Is Calling Our Names”, a darker and more expansive second album built on soaring vocals, heavy guitars and a strong gothic undertow. It feels cinematic without becoming overblown, with enough doom-weight in the atmosphere to keep the melodies from floating away.
Formed in Hannover in 2021, EVERRIME began as a personal recording project before developing into a full band. On “The Sea Is Calling Our Names”, that evolution feels complete: the songs are more confident, the arrangements broader and the contrast between beauty and heaviness much more pronounced.
“Sunset” opens the record like a slow descent into twilight before “A Lifetime Asleep” brings in the album’s full symphonic weight. “1000 Dying Dreams” pushes the darker mood further, while “A Bloom’s Fading” leans into the band’s more melancholic side.
“She Never Smiles” is one of the album’s more immediate cuts, but the title track is where the record really opens up. “The Sea Is Calling Our Names” mixes layered vocals, heavy guitars and atmospheric keyboards into a piece that feels both intimate and widescreen at the same time.
“Insignificant” keeps the emotional pressure high, while “Serenade of the Night Fox” introduces a more lyrical, almost nocturnal character. “The Rings of Saturn” expands the palette again, adding a more cosmic feel without pulling the album away from its gothic core.
“Winters Within” darkens everything one last time before “Into the Abyss” returns in a newly recorded version. The track works as a natural closer, tying the present lineup back to the band’s earlier material while showing how much heavier and more polished EVERRIME have become.
The twin-vocal approach is one of the album’s biggest strengths. Mariam Kukava and Ayman Mostafa bring different shades to the material, with cleaner melodic passages sitting naturally beside the darker, heavier moments.
“The Sea Is Calling Our Names” does not chase symphonic-metal bombast for its own sake. EVERRIME keep the focus on mood, melody and atmosphere, making the album feel less like a collection of dramatic gestures and more like one long journey through cold water and fading light.
