Xentrix – Allied with the Enemy 2026, MP3+FLAC

British thrash veterans XENTRIX come back swinging on “Allied with the Enemy”, a record that sounds sharpened rather than softened by age. The riffs bite, the drums land like demolition charges, and the whole album carries that cold, disciplined UK thrash attack the band built its name on.
Recorded from late 2025 into 2026 at Backstage Studios in England and Echo Base Studio, the album once again puts Andy Sneap behind the desk. His production gives the material exactly what it needs: weight without mud, precision without sterility, and enough room for every riff to cut clean through the mix.
Musically, XENTRIX are not trying to cosplay 1989. “Rip Saw”, “Killer Unknown” and “Nil by Mouth” carry the aggression and tight riffing of classic thrash, but the songwriting is darker, heavier and more deliberate. There are flashes of melody and atmosphere too, especially in “The Dark Eternal”, yet the album never loses its teeth.
The title track is a compact neck-snapper, while “On Burned Remains” and “Doomsday Hook” lean into a more oppressive groove. “Where the Madness Lies” is the shortest attack on the record, almost like a knife flash between the longer songs, before “Snake in Waiting” and “No Bridges Left to Burn” drag things back into heavier terrain.
Lyrically, “Allied with the Enemy” circles disinformation, herd mentality, collapse and self-deception. That gives the album a suitably bitter edge: this is thrash with something to say, not just a collection of riffs looking for a circle pit.
The CD edition adds “We Drink the Same Poison” as an eleventh bonus track, extending the running time to 50:34. The standard vinyl configuration carries the core ten-song album.
