Dangereens – Chic 2024

Montreal DANGEREENS are back with a bang! Here comes their second album, thirteen originals full of the glam rocknroll Rockpalast scorchers from the friday night dance (“Chlorine”, “Fly-By-Nighter”, “Hallelujah”) to the sunday bike race jive (“Death on Two Wheels”, “Jailbird Annie”). Montreal has, in our books, some history of perfectly blended sweet rocknroll tunes with some punk urgency, the DANGEREENS won our hearts with every song on “Chic”, it´s wonderful 60´s harmonies, 70s schmaltz rock with pounding 50´s BERRY kicks and relentless piano hammering.

There are few bands that we’ve got to review every single release by on the Rockpit: but forming in 2008 and releasing their first full length ‘The Devil Rhythm’ in 2011 – Trucker Diablo is one of them. They’re also one of the most consistent – with 2013s ‘Songs of Iron’, 2015’s ‘Rise Above the Noise’ and 2017’s ‘Fighting For Everything’ all great noisy, dirty, Hard Rocking goodness!
