With John Corabi, Joe Lynn Turner, Bob Daisley, Ace Frehley and Eric Singer in the cast, this thing arrives carrying enough pedigree to flatten a small club before the first chorus lands.

Cochran launched VOODOOLAND as his own vehicle after years of working with Joe Lynn Turner and Ace Frehley, eventually releasing a self-produced EP in 2000 and the full-length “Give Me Air” in 2004. The 2026 edition finally pulls that material together into one complete 16-track package.

Musically, this is hard rock with dirt under its nails: thick guitars, bluesy grooves, big choruses and enough melodic muscle to sit comfortably beside BAD COMPANY, DEEP PURPLE, early WHITESNAKE and the heavier end of classic American hard rock.

“Give Me Air”, “Inside Looking Out”, “Don’t Say That You Love Me” and “River Of Dreams” benefit hugely from John Corabi’s sandpaper voice, while Joe Lynn Turner brings his unmistakable melodic fire to “Make Up Your Mind” and “Freedom”. Cochran never gets buried beneath the guest list, though — his guitar remains the engine room of the whole project.

“Caroline”, “Phoenix Rising”, “Breaking Away” and “Open Fire” show the wider range of the material, moving between straight hard rock, bluesier territory and more melodic moments. “You And I” appears in both electric and acoustic forms, giving the collection another useful contrast rather than simply repeating the same trick twice.

The two bonus cuts are where collectors should really start smiling. “Higher” restores another piece from the original VOODOOLAND era, while the early “Freedom Demo” features Ace Frehley on guitar and Eric Singer on drums — a small KISS-related time capsule tucked away at the end of the set.

This reissue works because it does not feel like somebody simply dusted off an old catalogue title. It feels like a proper memorial to Karl Cochran: guitarist, songwriter and studio craftsman whose fingerprints can be found across far more rock records than his name ever received credit for.

Country: US
Label: Deko Entertainment
Genre: Hard Rock / Classic Rock / Blues Rock
Original recordings: 2000–2004
Remastered edition: October 30, 2026
Format: Digital / Limited 2LP 180g Blue Vinyl

Tracklist:
01 – Give Me Air (Remastered) [feat.
