The hooks are still huge, but now there is more weight behind the riffs and a darker edge underneath the polish.

Built around Rocky Ravić’s vocals and guitar, “Out For Blood” keeps one foot firmly planted in classic ’80s hard rock while pushing the production into a more modern direction. The arrival of Jake Tyler on bass and Gavin Hill on drums gives the rhythm section extra muscle, and the whole record feels tighter and more confident because of it.

The title track comes out swinging with exactly the kind of chorus MYSTERY do best: big, direct and built for a crowd. “What Makes You Lie” and “Needed From You” keep the melodic side close to the surface, while “Change My Hand” adds a little more bite and forward motion.

“Fly Free” opens the sound up with a more uplifting feel, and “You’ll Find A Way” carries that same sense of movement without losing the guitars. “In Your Arms Tonight” leans harder into the melodic-rock side, while “Living The Dream” brings back some of the swagger that has always sat underneath the band’s cleaner choruses.

“My Own Eyes” is one of the album’s key moments, with producer Mikael Sehlin joining on vocals and guitar. His presence adds a slightly more modern metallic edge without dragging the song away from MYSTERY’s melodic core.

The closing stretch also throws in two interesting covers: QUIET RIOT’s “Metal Health (Bang Your Head)” and ACCEPT’s “The World Needs Guts”. Both fit surprisingly well, because MYSTERY have always carried that same combination of arena-ready melody and old-school metal attitude.

“Out For Blood” does not sound like a band trying to recreate its younger days. It sounds like MYSTERY finally growing into the promise of those early records — still loud, still melodic, but with more scars on the leather.

Country: Australia
Label: Metalapolis Records
Genre: Melodic Hard Rock / Heavy Metal
Release date: October 30, 2026
Format: CD / Digital

Tracklist:
01 – Out For Blood
02 – What Makes You Lie
03 – Needed From You
04 – Change My Hand
05 – Fly Free
06 – You’ll Find A Way
07 – In Your Arms Tonight
08 – Living The Dream
09 – My Own Eyes
10 – Metal Health (Bang Your Head)
11 – The World Needs Guts

Rocky Ravić – Lead Vocals, Guitar
Jake Tyler – Bass, Backing Vocals
Gavin Hill – Drums

Guest:
Mikael Sehlin – Vocals & Guitar on “My Own Eyes”

Produced by Rocky Ravić & Mikael Sehlin
Mixed & Mastered by Mikael Sehlin

MP3 FLAC

Australian hard rockers MYSTERY return with “Out For Blood”, sounding tougher, sharper and noticeably more mature than the teenage firebrands who first appeared back in 2013.
