The band keep their epic backbone intact, but the sound is broader now — more cinematic, more emotional and noticeably more modern around the edges.

The title comes from the old pilgrim expression “Ultreia”, essentially a call to keep moving forward, and that idea runs through the whole record. “VLTREIA” is less about fantasy escapism than personal journeys: loss, friendship, resilience, hope, identity and the stubborn refusal to stay down when life puts a boot on your chest.

“Sois Nuestro Pilar” opens the album as a spoken, atmospheric introduction before “El Amanecer Herido” brings the full band in with one of the record’s most emotional statements. Built around the image of a forest consumed by fire, the song deals with destruction but refuses to stop at despair; its real subject is rebuilding after the flames.

“Junto a Mí” turns toward something more intimate, while “Eco de Libertad” dives headfirst into classic power-metal territory with the story of William Wallace. It is one of the most openly heroic cuts on the album, all charging guitars and widescreen melody without losing the emotional thread underneath.

“Mi Héroe” shows another face of ARGION, tackling autism with empathy rather than turning the subject into easy drama. “Renacer del Héroe”, featuring Isra Ramos, brings the record’s central idea into focus: falling, rising and finding enough fire left to start again.

The title track features Tete Novoa and feels built for the road — not just the literal Camino de Santiago that inspired part of the concept, but the wider idea of moving forward when standing still would be easier. His voice locks surprisingly well with Richard de la Uz, giving the song an extra burst of height without turning it into a guest showcase.

“La Nuesa Tierra” is especially important to the band. Sung in Asturian and featuring José Pardial, it reimagines ideas connected to “Asturorum” from their early days and pulls the album back toward home soil. Roots, identity and modern power metal all meet in the same song without it feeling forced.

The bonus material completes the circle. “Sobre El Mar MMXXVI” revisits one of ARGION’s earliest and most recognizable songs, but this is not a simple remaster. The arrangement has been rebuilt around the current lineup, with more orchestral weight and less of the older folk character, turning it into a bridge between the band they were and the band they have become.

That is really what “VLTREIA” is about. ARGION have not thrown away the epic side that got them here; they have simply widened the frame. The guitars still charge, the choruses still aim for the rafters, but now there is more space for orchestration, electronics and lyrics that come from somewhere closer to the bone.

Country: Spain
Label: Maldito Records
Genre: Symphonic Power Metal / Melodic Power Metal
Release date: October 30, 2026
Format: Digipack CD / Digital

Confirmed tracklist:
01 – Sois Nuestro Pilar
02 – El Amanecer Herido
03 – Junto a Mí
04 – Eco de Libertad
05 – Mi Héroe
06 – Renacer del Héroe (feat.
